smartBridges Named One of Fastest Growing Technology Companies in Asia Pacific by Deloitte

smartBridges, a leading provider of standards-based wireless networking solutions, today announced that it has been named one of the fastest growing technology companies in Asia Pacific by Deloitte. The Deloitte Technology Fast 500 Asia Pacific 2005 is a ranking of the 500 fastest growing technology companies in Asia Pacific based on percentage revenue growth over three years.

smartBridges was ranked third among the Singapore based companies represented in this prestigious list. With demand for wireless broadband connectivity continuing to surge, it has recently expanded its Singapore offices and opened new ones in Europe, North America and Japan as part of its worldwide expansion plans.

smartBridges’ CEO, Mr. Nimesh Parikh, credits strong technological innovation and a close relationship with channel sales partners for the company’s accelerated revenue growth over the past three years. He said, "We have been continuously evolving products and solutions to meet industry’s and customers’ needs. With the new Nexus series of intelligent wireless broadband radios released this year, we hope to continue with our strong growth far into the future."

“Attracting enough customers to attain such fast growth over three years makes a strong statement about the quality of a company’s product and its leadership,” said Ian Thatcher, partner in charge of Deloitte’s Technology Fast 500 Asia Pacific program. “smartBridges has shown the right stuff for growth.”

The Deloitte Technology Fast 500 Asia Pacific programme covers public and private companies across the region, and is based on three-year average percentage revenue growth. The awards are researched and sponsored by the DTT Technology, Media & Telecommunications (TMT) Industry Group.

Entrants must be public or private companies headquartered in Asia Pacific and must be a “technology company,” defined as a company that owns proprietary technology that contributes to a significant portion of the company's operating revenues; manufactures a technology related product, or devotes a significant proportion of revenues to the research and development of technology.

smartBridges Named as Top Vendor 2005 in Service Provider Weekly

Service Provider Weekly, America’s oldest and longest running magazine for Service Providers, scouts the latest trends and data on all things relating to service providers in the telecommunications industry. In their special October issue, Service Provider Weekly named smartBridges as one of the top vendor of license free wireless networking equipment.

The key criteria according to Ken Durham, Editor for Service Provider Weekly, are customers’ nomination and rating of the companies. Service Provider Weekly then subjected the nominated companies to a rigorous review to select top 50 companies in various fields for the list. The publication is delivered electronically in digital format every Monday to over 18,000 qualified subscribers.

“We have always been painstaking in heeding our customers’ feedback and taking them into account during product development. This award only confirms our efforts in this. We are very happy to have customers’ stamp of approval through the Service Provider Weekly nomination and look forward to more such approbations,” said David Wilson, North American Channel Sales Manager for smartBridges.

smartBridges ranked among the top Small and Medium sized Enterprises (SMEs)

The quest to unwire the world is paying off for smartBridges in a big way. Just into its sixth year since its founding, smartBridges is now ranked as one of Singapore's top SMEs (Small and Medium sized Enterprises), the company's third major achievement in the last two years.

The Singapore SME 500 ranking by Ernst & Young is not just the only quantitative performance benchmark here but also the most authoritative. The ranking is supported by the Singapore Productivity and Standards Board (PSB).

This achievement by smartBridges comes less than a year after being awarded the prestigious National Infocomm Award (NIA) by the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA). The NIA, industry's highest accolade, recognizes innovations that have contributed to improved technologies and have been successfully commercialized in global markets. It was awarded to smartBridges in recognition for developing the innovative Nexus platform, an integrated series of intelligent wireless networking devices that can be easily deployed to establish broadband Internet connections.

And just prior to that, Part-15.org, an international trade group of Wireless Internet Service Providers (WISP) gave their stamp of approval to smartBridges by naming it the Wireless ISP Manufacturer of the Year. smartBridges was selected as the winner by a distinguished international panel of high technology and advanced wireless Internet professionals for demonstrating exceptional creativity and ingenuity in the development of leading-edge products that have significant impact on the global WISP industry.

Founder and CEO of smartBridges and winner of Singapore Indian Entrepreneur award 2004, Nimesh Parikh says:

“We have wonderful support from our customers. I am so pleased to see their dedication in putting in so much effort to test our products and provide us with feedback. This ensures our products and services are always attuned to their needs. With the new Nexus line of products, the future holds even more promises. We have already been receiving some fantastic reviews. Without these committed customers, we would not be where we are today.

Outdoor Wi-Fi technology is now field proven and being deployed in large projects. But the wireless broadband market has yet to realize its full potential. While fixed line networks are hampered by certain physical limitations, with wireless, the sky's the limit.”

smartBridges wins prestigious National Infocomm Award

smartBridges, a provider of carrier-class outdoor fixed wireless broadband equipment, has bagged the prestigious National Infocomm Award for its development of the airHaul™ Nexus. The innovative Nexus platform allows for the possibility of ‘unwiring our world’ and enabling wireless Internet access across entire towns, states or even countries.

The award is the highest industry accolade given jointly by the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) and the Singapore Infocomm Technology Federation (SiTF). It recognizes innovations that have contributed to improved technologies and have been successfully commercialized in global markets.

Nimesh Parikh, CEO and founder of smartBridges, said: “We are absolutely delighted to win this award. We have been leading the development of outdoor wireless broadband technologies and this award validates the importance of our new product architecture to provide advanced intelligent features for wireless broadband users. The airHaul™ Nexus provides a cost-effective alternative to landline T1/E1 carrier-leased circuits. The product is a perfect answer for real-time data and triple-play (video, voice and data) applications.”

The airHaul™ Nexus – wireless backhaul product utilizes the Nexus platform to provide a new benchmark for intelligent wireless backhaul and enterprise-class last mile broadband access. The benefits offered by the airHaul Nexus are unique in the networking industry and can be viewed here.

The distributed intelligence architecture of the Nexus platform increases the robustness of the wide area networks and enhances management functions. These advanced features are vital for Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and carriers to deploy large and scalable networks. This enhances the stability of their existing networks and allows them to grow their wireless footprint.

smartBridges Design recognized as an integral part of Global Success

smartBridges was recently recognized as one of the companies that embraced product design as an integral part for global success. The recognition was from International Enterprise (IE) http://www.iesingapore.gov.sg (the government agency spearheading efforts to develop Singapore's external economic wing).

IE established the Design for Internationalization program for global companies to embrace design in a holistic manner at the corporate level.

In April 2004, IE collaborated with PSB Corporation for a seminar on “New Economy – Success with Design”. Four design experts had been invited to share the latest trends in product design, brand communications design and design IP issues. The seminar was also the launch pad for a design case study book called “Designed for Global Success”, featuring a total of 14 companies, that have effectively and successfully used design to add value in their global business strategy such as Creative Technology and smartBridges. One of the highlights of the book is the qualitative data of how design has boosted companies’ market share, improved profitability and created new customer values.

Contents for the Design Book

Said Mr Ted Tan, Assistant Chief Executive Officer, IE Singapore, “With contributions from several design-led companies and consulting firms, this collection of 14 design case studies highlights how each of these companies has leveraged on design in their corporate strategy for market expansion and growth. Our Design for Internationalization program will continue to raise the awareness of design, and we will work with globalising Singapore-based companies to tap on design for that differentiating winning edge.”

“Design moves beyond the aesthetics to solve problems; it realizes potential and creates new value for the company. In today's fast changing global market place, the key is to know the design elements that will captivate and deliver quality. The design has to add value to a company's brand and communicate the experience that customers want," commented Daniel Chai, R & D Director for smartBridges.
