Positions:
Technical Support Manager
Scope:
- Responsible for managing technical support activities (via email, phone call, online and field visit) of smartBridges 802.11a/g/b based outdoor wireless products to world wide Telco/Wireless ISP/Channel partners (North Americas, Latin America, Europe, South Asia and Asia Pacific).
- Plan and manage the technical activities for various large communication projects and providing task directions to other members of the team in line with the broader directions of project management.
- Handle and Manage pre-sales/post sales/technical consultancy to large projects in terms of wireless network planning and design.
- Troubleshooting TCP/IP layer, 802.11a/g/b wireless networks, protocol/packet sniffing and optimize network performance. Troubleshoot network issues on site or remotely if needed.
- Provide timely feedback to R & D team on field reported critical issues.
- Manage customer expectation by providing timely solution on their needs.
- Provide technical training to wireless Internet service provider/channel partners/priority customer bases.
- Contribute white paper/smartTips/FAQ articles for smartBridges simplyFi newsletter.
Requirements:
- A Degree in Electronics and communication/wireless/computer engineering with minimum 5 years experience in telecommunications industry.
- Minimum 5 years working experience in working with Telco/ISP/carrier environment.
- Hands on experience in RF communications/wireless and exposure in 802.11 domain is highly desirable.
- Possess in depth knowledge of 802.11 standard, RF – 2.4GHz & 5 GHz, wireless site survey, layer 2 & 3 networking and Internet networking at all levels of the OSI.
- Strong knowledge in TCP/IP, VLAN, STP, sub-netting, routing, routing protocol, packet sniffing, throughput and network OSI layers.
- Thorough understanding of wireless network security features (WPA2, VPN. Multiple SSID etc)
Experience in supporting Linux/UNIX operating systems.
- Must have good Network troubleshooting skills.
- Exposure of SNMP based network monitoring tools such NMS, MRTG and other monitoring software.
- Network certifications preferred - wireless CWNA and/or CCNA.
- Well organized, independent and capable of working alone.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
- Must be proactive, resourceful and self-motivated with strong analytical skills.

Scope:
- Responsible for Sales and Business Development activities in Asia Pacific.
- Responsible for channel development and management to ensure a good distribution network in the Asia Pacific market.
- Identify market trends and competitors for continual feedback to product teams.

Basic qualifications:
- Fluent in English and local language of the target region is a must.

Embedded Linux Software Development Engineer (Singapore)
Scope:
- Embedded Linux software development for Carrier Class Wireless Networking equipment using Intel IXP network processor. Wide range of projects including system performance and performance enhancements, algorithm changes for performance and scalability, I/O stack enhancements.
- The candidate will be responsible for the definition and development of Wireless Broadband Access products and solutions.
- His/her responsibilities will include full design and implementation of one or more drivers/applications for 802.11 wireless chip sets.
- The candidate will be involved in all phases of the development process, including: requirement analysis, developing and writing of design specifications and test plans, coding, testing, performance evaluation, and troubleshooting.
Basic qualifications:
- Degree in Electronics/Communications/Computer Engineering with majors in Networking Concepts and Design.
- At least 3 years experience as a software development engineer contributing throughout the full SDLC lifecycle including design, implementation, testing and customer acceptance.
- Good track record of estimating and completing development tasks on time.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Technical qualifications:
- Linux Kernel/driver development exposure is a must.
- Linux Socket Programming experience.
- Proficiency in Linux C development.
- Strong design and debugging skills.
- In-depth knowledge in TCP/IP.
- Must have good Network troubleshooting skills.
- Thorough understanding of various network security features (ACL, firewall filtering, VPN etc.).
- Exposure to development in wireless 802.11 domain is highly desirable.
- Network certifications preferred but not required..
