Partners for Progress (P4P) is a non-profit organization focused on building a community of collaborators to help bridge the digital divide. Our vision is to build a cluster of self-sustaining projects around the world that use the wireless connectivity as a backbone to deliver life enhancing digital services to the rural population.
The Rainbow
Over the years P4P has participated in hundreds of wireless connectivity projects across the globe. This experience has resulted in a very cost effective and scalable wireless connectivity solution. In addition, we have made partnerships for numerous complementary products and services to establish a cost effective wireless IP network and the service delivery point/kiosk (“The Rainbow”). This is an effective solution for the complex problem of establishing cost effective service delivery points.
Large Scale Adoption
In order to maximize the benefits, P4P is now turning the focus on building a community of partners to replicate the Rainbow projects in various parts of the world.
Through collaboration with NGOs, charitable foundations, companies and private donors, P4P is establishing an affordable and self-sustainable franchise to build a chain of Rainbows that can deliver Education and Healthcare related content and services. The foundation is offering a unique operating model based on the compilation of the best practices from many rural connectivity projects.
The Rainbow project is a modular cluster of 100 kiosks run by a local entrepreneur. The kiosks are collocated with the schools and hospitals to deliver the e-Learning and e-Medicine services. As a project enabler, P4P and the Partners are making this Rainbow (all of the Wireless Network blueprints, PC and IT Hardware and Software components, Installation and maintenance of the wireless network, Data Center for hosting the content and services etc) available to the qualified projects. The operator is given the training on the successful operation of the kiosks, access to the relevant content and services as well as consulting throughout.
