Subscriber Auto Configuration System

smartBridges is proud to offer Innomedia's advanced Subscriber Auto-Configuration System (SACS) for streamlining the myriad configuration and management tasks associated with the deployment, operation, and maintenance of smartBridges CPE devices. SACS helps service providers achieve subscriber self-provisioning to significantly reduce the operating cost associated with new customer acquisitions. This flexible and highly-available system has been designed from the ground up to meet the evolving challenges associated with managing broadband access CPE devices in the field.

Application

Once a smartBridges CPE device is associated with the Access Point and connected to the Internet, it contacts the SACS to check its current configuration. The SACS instantly upgrades the firmware and configures bandwidth control, QoS, or other settings as per the subscriber’s Service Level Agreement (SLA). After the initial auto-provisioning, the CPE device contacts the SACS at periodic intervals in order to maintain its SLA and optimize its performance.

Features and Benefits

Features Benefits
Subscriber Auto-Configuration and Provisioning Technology Dramatically reduces network operating expenses by fully automating device provisioning
Firmware Update Technology Expedites new feature rollout with automatic CPE firmware update capability
RFC 2617, AES, RC4 and HTTPS Security Mechanism Highly-secure device authentication and encrypted provisioning
NAT/Firewall Traversing Supports devices deployed behind even NAT/firewall routers
High Performance System Supports concurrent configuration and provisioning of up to 10k devices (upgradable to 1000k devices)

SACS solves several problems associated with the management of a service deployment. smartBridges CPE devices can be installed and brought into service with zero configuration, either at the point-of-sale, the distribution center, or at the subscriber's premises. Devices deployed even behind NAT firewall routers are managed effortlessly, without firewall re-configuration, and new features can be enabled via automatic firmware upgrades. Real-time log information is also displayed in order to diagnose device configuration issues. For convenience, SACS seamlessly integrates with other network management systems.
