Product Overview
The airClient 241 (sB3417) is a Customer Premise Equipment (CPE), designed specifically for carriers and communication service providers to establish end-to-end high performance, license exempt wireless infrastructure capable of delivering data and voice applications. This revolutionary CPE can be self-installed by the subscribers to eliminate the truck-roll, thus making it suitable for highly scalable and large network deployments. The advanced COFDM radio design extends the wireless service coverage in Near Line of Sight (NrLOS) conditions.
The airClient 241 is available in many software configurations and two form factors to suit individual project requirements.
Quality of Service (QoS) for traffic prioritization and bandwidth management for the wireless interface make the airClient 241 the intelligent choice for neighborhood-wide ISP networks. The special hardware and software features significantly simplify how a subscriber can self-install the CPE and connect to the service provider’s network. When used with smartBridges suite of remote management solutions, service providers can realize significant cost savings on new subscriber provisions. Maintenance and after-sales support costs are also reduced.

Feature Highlights
Intelligent Networking Features for Data and Voice Services Quality of Service (QoS) for traffic prioritization, bandwidth management for the wireless interface make airClient 241 the intelligent choice for enterprise class customers. The ability to guarantee bandwidth to critical applications, limit bandwidth to low priority applications, and provide end-to-end QoS, ensures enhanced performance for data and voice traffic.
The airClient 241 includes Network Address Translation (NAT) and Router capabilities for isolating the service provider's network. When used with airPoint™ Nexus, the airClient 241 can support unlimited MACs as a fully transparent bridge for joining remote network segments.
Subscriber Provisioning and Management System Field installation is time consuming and expensive; therefore, the airClient 241 is designed for rapid out-of-the-box installation. Service providers can now better manage and support the airClient 241 installed at the customer premise through the optional Auto-Configuration System (ACS) and Device Management System (DMS). Every time the CPE associates to the service provider’s network, the ACS automatically authenticates and configures the CPE with the correct bandwidth settings, device parameters, and firmware version. The DMS can be used by the service provider for post sales support, including getting remote access to the CPE for device troubleshooting and configuration.
LongRange™ Radio Performance that goes the Distance airClient 241 features LongRange™ wireless design to deliver high data throughput and long operating range. smartBridges' superior design of the radio receiver enhances the sensitivity to an incredible -97 dBm level. The superior receiver and transmitter characteristics and parameter optimization for long range result in the wireless coverage. Better range translates directly into lower wireless infrastructure cost when covering a large area.
Power over Ethernet (PoE) Support The airClient 241 is powered through the Ethernet cable by using the PoE injector that is supplied as a standard accessory. PoE support allows the airClient 241 to be installed away from the subscriber’s computer, and at a location which offers better signal strength from the Access Point.
Antenna Options The airClient 241 comes standard with an integrated antenna, sufficient for most subscriber locations. For longer distances or for higher data speeds, an optional higher gain antenna can be attached to the CPE at the external antenna connector.
