Product Overview

The airClient™ TOTAL 551 is a cost-effective Customer Premise Equipment (CPE) for carriers and service providers to establish end-to-end high performance wireless connectivity. Combined with the innovative integrated antenna, the airClient TOTAL 551 uses the license free UNII bands in 5.150-5.250, 5.250-5.350, 5.470-5.725 and 5.725-5.875 GHz frequencies.

Built on the field proven and award winning Nexus platform, the airClient TOTAL 551 provides up to 6 Mbps of TCPIP data throughput. It is rated for outdoor use and very much suitable to be used in PtP mode backhaul as well as in client mode. Support of user and management VLAN enables operators in creating network segmentation. Advance level of QoS support with 8 configurable classes help in reducing delays for time sensitive applications like Voice and Video.

The Mac-based Bandwidth Control capability makes the airClient TOTAL 551 the intelligent choice for residential customers.

Open Industry Standards for Investment Protection

The airClient TOTAL 551 uses the license free UNII bands in 5.150-5.250, 5.250-5.350, 5.470-5.725 and 5.725-5.875 GHz frequencies to give 24 non-overlapping channels*. Use of the IEEE 802.11a industry standard allows interoperability with third party access points.

With an integrated 5.x GHz antenna, this CPE is ideal for situations where a low cost basic model is required.

Networking Features for Residential deployments

The airClient TOTAL 551 includes Network Address Translation (NAT) and Router capabilities for isolating the ISP's network. The Bandwidth Control feature allows service providers to make the best use of their available bandwidth, and thereby maximize revenue, by providing differing services to each of their customers according to the Service Level Agreement (SLA).

Utilizing the popular network management standards (SNMPv2c), the airClient TOTAL 551 can be remotely configured by the user friendly web management interface. The web interface allows for the remote management and configuration of wireless-centric network device parameters such as channel selection, network association, data rate, site survey, etc.

Quick and Easy Deployment

Field installation is time consuming and expensive. Therefore, the airClient TOTAL 551 is designed for rapid out-of-the-box installation. The integrated antenna, pre-installed mounting brackets, and simple-to-use software, allow the network to be set up rapidly and cost-effectively.
